M&A Associate/ Analyst - Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered is looking for an Associate/ Analyst with 18 months+ M&A experience for their M&A team in Dubai.
The Associate/ Analyst will assist Directors, Executive Directors and Managing Directors in the sourcing and executing of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transactions. And some of the key responsibilities of the role are listed below:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform financial and valuation analyses using various methodologies
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios and to analyze the impacts of different capital structures and potential equity and debt capital market transactions or M&A transactions
  • Participate in all stages of transaction executions, from the pitch phase through to closing
  • Prepare presentation materials for use in client meetings.
  • Preparation and presentation of information memoranda, prospectuses, fairness opinions (including valuation) under the supervision of Directors.
  • Participate in the origination and execution of transactions.
  • Research and analysis of markets and industries.
  • Research and financial analysis of companies based on company information, research reports, and other information sources.
  • Coordinate efforts with deal team members across the Bank.
  • Assist Directors in structuring transactions.
  • Contribute to the sourcing of new ideas
PROFILE OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Highly motivated and hard working individuals with a strong record of achievement in academics and summer/full time employment in mergers & acquisitions.
  • Candidates should have a Masters/MBA/CPA degree or a Bachelors degree from a good university.
  • M&A or transaction advisory experience of over 2 years.
  • Superior analytical aptitude, creative problem solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and thrive in a high intensity environment.
  • High level of passion towards development of a career in M&A.

  • Detail oriented and numerate.
  • Key skills include (i) ability to work with Excel spreadsheets; (ii) good knowledge of other key software’s such as Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, etc; (iii) experience preparing prospectuses/ information memoranda/ investment teasers/ pitch books; (iv) experience in performing research on general industries/ countries/ companies; (v) ability to perform Discounted Cash Flow and other forms of valuation.
